Celtic are now frontrunners for £2 million PSG midfielder
By StevieMac
Celtic fans could get the chance to bring back a popular Parkhead song if their chase for a Paris Saint-Germain midfielder comes to fruition this summer. The news broke out completely out of the blue, with absolutely no whispers before this morning, but now it looks like the Hoops are looking to bring 19-year-old French youth international, Edouard Michut, to Glasgow.
The young Paris Saint Germain attacking midfielder made a few appearances for the French giants last season, but it is clear that he is not a regular feature in the first team picture right now. As a result, a move away from the club seems to be pretty much on the cards.
As reported by Sky Sports, Celtic are preparing an offer in the region of £2 million for Michut. Reports in France at the end of the season had claimed that the youngster had become frustrated at the lack of a pathway into the first team and is looking to leave this summer.
Also, as tweeted out by Fraser Fletcher, Celtic are now front runners and in a good position to land Michut. There is lots of confidence around the club, with the player keen to play in the Champions League.
Celtic are front runners to sign PSG midfielder
Michut is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder at Paris Saint-Germain. He has played some first team matches for them and by all accounts, he is a talented player with a lot of potential. He has represented France at various youth levels as well.
There was plenty of excitement when Odsonne Edouard made the move to Parkhead from PSG. And now it looks like there’s another Edouard who might end up making that move too.
The PSG squad is a tough one to break into and if the player has as much potential as suggested, he could prove to be a fantastic signing for the Hoops. Of course, nothing is set in stone yet.
