Celtic could be in need of a striker this summer if Albian Ajeti does end up sealing a move away from the club, after struggling to make his mark at Parkhead, after joining from West Ham United a couple of seasons back. The Hoops do have a couple of wonderful options in Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis already, but both have had their fair share of injury problems.

Daizen Maeda can play through the middle as well but that is not a role where he has looked at his best. As a result, if Ajeti did leave, which would be the right step for all parties involved, do not be surprised to see Celtic go after another forward.

One player that they had been linked with recently is Jordan Larsson, with rumours emerging that his representatives had been in contact with Celtic.

A move would make sense at this point of time, as his contract was terminated with Spartak Moscow recently and he is available as a free agent. But as reported by Football Scotland, Celtic are not looking at Larsson.

Incredible Larsson to Celtic transfer update emerges

It is a bit surprising that the Hoops do not appear to be looking to sign Larsson this summer, as it could be a perfect opportunity to make the move happen.

He had been linked with a move to Celtic last summer as well but back then he was rated at a transfer fee around £15 million after enjoying a tremendous 2020/21 campaign with Spartak Moscow, and even Borussia Dortmund were believed to be looking at him as a potential option at striker.

His last season was not great though, but there does not appear to be any lack of interest in his services despite that. Clubs around the Premier League, Serie A and Bundesliga are rumoured to be keeping an eye on his situation, but it looks like Celtic are not amongst those chasing Larsson’s signature.
