Celtic have had a brilliant transfer window so far. Those, who were considered as the top priorities for the Hoops at the start of the summer, have now joined the Glasgow giants permanently. On that list are Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Daizen Maeda. On the other hand, Benjamin Siegrist and Alexandro Bernabei have been signed and it is exciting to see how things turn out for them at Parkhead.

While Celtic look set to embark on another successful campaign, the club still do need to strengthen in a few more areas, with Champions League football to deal with next season as well as the Scottish crown to defend.

The first-team does need some reinforcements but it appears that the club have their eyes on the B team as well, and could be closing in on a move for Dylan Reid of St Mirren.

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic will hold signing talks with Reid and the Hoops have already agreed a £125,000 transfer fee for the St Mirren youngster. He will meet B team coaches Stephen McManus and Darren O’Dea while Ange Postecoglou is also likely to be involved, via Zoom.

Reid is just 17 years of age but has already made a few appearances in the Premiership for St Mirren. The defensive midfielder also represents Scotland at the youth levels. Despite his undeniable potential, he would not be expected to be anywhere the first-team at Celtic at this point of time though.

Rangers have also been linked with the talented midfielder while Benfica are another club believed to be keeping an eye on the situation.

At the moment though, one would have to consider Celtic as the ones leading the race for Reid’s signature, although he is yet to make a decision on his future.
