Celtic are in need of soaring up their options in the middle of the park this summer. The club saw both Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic depart at the end of last season. On top of that, Ismaila Soro has left on a loan deal as well. As a result, Ange Postecoglou could certainly do with the arrival of a midfielder or two.
While it is the senior team that is need of reinforcements though, it looks like Celtic could be closing in on a move for a midfielder who would be more of a fixture in the B team, despite the fact that he has Premiership experience.
The player in question is Dylan Reid, who is a defensive midfielder, 17 years of age, currently plays for St Mirren and for Scotland at the youth level. He has already made a few appearances in the Premiership though. Recently, rumours had emerged that Celtic had made a £125,000 transfer bid for the youngster.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, it is understood that the offer has now been accepted by St Mirren. Reid is yet to make his mind though and it is believed that he is waiting to see if Rangers make a move for him. Benfica have also been linked with the youngster.

Reid seems like a very exciting prospect and signing him could prove to be a long-term coup for the Hoops. At this moment though, they need to bring in senior players as well.
The club are in need of a proper defensive midfielder. While Yosuke Ideguchi and James McCarthy can play there, neither of them is yet to impress for the Hoops.
The club were heavily linked with a move for Brazilian midfielder Vinicius Souza but that has failed to transpire. Now, it remains to be seen who they end up going for this summer in order to fill the void in defensive midfield.
