Celtic could be on the lookout for another striker this summer. The club have two brilliant options right now in the form of Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis, and both have been superb when they have been on the pitch, but a major problem about the duo is the fact that neither of them has managed to remain fit for any considerable length of time. On the other hand, Albian Ajeti has been linked with a move away from Parkhead after failing to establish himself in the first-team.

Daizen Maeda can play through the middle but that does not look like his most effective position and he has looked at his best while coming in from the left.

Thus, it might not be a bad idea for Celtic to go after another striker this summer and one player that they have been linked with recently is Stephen Odey of Randers, who has also represented the Nigeria national team. He has been linked with the Rangers too.

As reported by Randers Amtsavis, when asked about the rumours linking him with Celtic and Rangers, Odey said:

"“These are big clubs, and it is clear that this is something that I want to be open to. But I’m in Randers FC, and right now that’s the only thing that matters. As long as I have not been presented with anything concrete, as I said, I will not let myself be disturbed by it.”"

Further, the Nigerian striker went on to add about the situation:

"“If the right club comes, Randers FC has no choice but to let me go. But I am happy to be in Randers FC, and that does not change the fact that there are some rumors about other clubs. For me, it’s about the preparations for the new season with the team I’m part of.”"

Odey had a promising campaign with Randers last time around. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he scored 13 goals and provided 2 assists in 32 appearances for the club in the 2021/22 campaign.

Thus, someone like Odey can prove to be a solid addition to this Celtic side, even though one would expect him to be the first-choice ahead of Kyogo and Giakoumakis.

It remains to be seen if Celtic do end up making a move to sign Odey this summer. It must be pointed out that the Hoops have been linked with other strikers in recent times as well and could very well be keeping their options open, before making any concrete moves.
