Celtic have been linked with a wide number of players in recent weeks as the club have been incredibly busy in the summer transfer window. The Hoops have already announced the permanent signings of Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur, Jota from Benfica, Alexandro Bernabei from Lanus and Benjamin Siegrist on a free transfer. They are not expected to stop there though.

With Champions League group stage football guaranteed for next season, it appears that the club are completely behind manager Ange Postecoglou and are trying to build a team that can compete with the heavyweights in Europe.

One player that they had been linked with recent weeks is Manchester City’s Taylor Harwood-Bellis, but now, they have lost the race for the defender’s signature on loan.

As reported on the club’s official website, Harwood-Bellis has joined Burnley on a season-long loan and will link back up with manager Vincent Kompany, after having worked with the Manchester City legend at Anderlecht last season.

Harwood-Bellis is 20 years of age and very highly-rated at Manchester City. He has already had loan spells with Blackburn Rovers, Stoke City and Anderlecht in the past.

Someone like him could have proven to be a good fit for Celtic but at the end of the day, it should not have come as a surprise to anyone that he has ended up at Burnley, where he will have the chance to work with Manchester City legend, Kompany, as his manager.

On the other hand, Celtic’s chase for a new centre-back could be in doubt, with Christopher Jullien yet to leave the club. It had looked like he was on his way to Schalke but the club and the player have not been able to come to an agreement on terms till now according to rumours.
