Celtic have been linked with a lot of players in recent times and the majority of the recent rumours have surrounded potential incomings. Alexandro Bernabei is on the verge of joining the club from Lanus, as it is believed that he has already completed his medical. On the other hand, it looks like a deal for Jota might not be far away either although the status on that move has remained that way for a while and it has dragged on for much longer than anticipated.

On the other hand, there are players heading out in the opposite direction as well, either on loan or on a permanent basis, mostly because of struggling for playing time.

Adam Montgomery is the latest name to be added to that list. St Johnstone announced on their official website that he has signed on loan from Celtic until January.

There was not a lot of rumours or hype surrounding the move and it has been completed quietly. Celtic fans will be hoping though that the impact that the player makes while away on loan is anything but quiet.

It was a bit of a surprise when Montgomery had managed to break into the first-team picture at Celtic early on last season under the management of Postecoglou.

The options were very thin at that point of time for the manager though as Celtic did not have a deep squad. On top of that, one has to admit that Montgomery had looked very impressive in his early displays for the club and many even felt that he was ready to be a regular starter for the Hoops.

It proved to be too early for that as Montgomery started to struggle as the season progressed and soon found himself out of the first-team picture.

He ended up joining Aberdeen on loan in January but that did not work out as well as expected. Let’s hope that this loan spell is much better for the Celtic youngster.
