Celtic are expected to make a number of additions to their squad over the course of the summer transfer window. The Hoops have already signed Cameron Carter-Vickers in a huge move from Tottenham Hotspur after he was immense on loan last season. The deal might rise up to £10 million with add-ons. Benjamin Siegrist has also arrived on a free transfer. On the other hand, moves for Jota and Alexandro Bernabei are also believed to be a matter of when and not if.

Celtic would not be expected to stop there though as there are a few more areas in the squad which could do with reinforcements.

One such area could be up front. While Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis both have been brilliant when they have been on the pitch, the duo have had their problems staying fit. On the other hand, Albian Ajeti is expected to leave after struggling to break in Ange Postecoglou’s plans.

Thus, while a new striker might not be near the top of the summer wish list, it is very much required. And there appears to be an interesting update on the situation. A report from the Daily Record reads:

"The champions are also looking to add to their striking options and are well down the line with a couple of options."

Celtic could be closing in on surprise move this summer

Most of the recent rumours surrounding Celtic have been about Jota, Bernabei and a defensive midfielder. Thus, not a lot of the spotlight has been on bringing in a new striker. The Hoops might be moving silently in that pursuit as well though.

It is still not clear who the couple of options are. It must be pointed out though that Jordan Larsson is available as a free agent this summer.

It remains to be seen who Celtic sign this summer, if they indeed do, to compete with the likes of Kyogo and Giakoumakis up front. One thing that must be said though is that the club have some spectacular options going forward.
