Celtic fans have been left worried in recent days as Josip Juranovic has been linked with a move away from the club this summer. Premier League teams are believed to be interested in the Croatian international and recent rumours have suggested that Atletico Madrid have an eye on him as well. It goes without saying that the situation is far from ideal for the Hoops.

Juranovic has been a key player for Celtic ever since joining the club from Legia Warsaw last summer in a deal believed to be around £2.5 million.

With the Scottish crown to defend against the Rangers next season as well as Champions League group stage football to deal with, Juranovic leaving would be a major blow to Celtic. Fortunately, there appears to be some positive news in that regard.

As reported by the Daily Record, Juranvovic’s camp has made it clear that he is happy at Celtic and still has a long-term contract with the club.

Celtic receive important Juranovic boost amid exit rumours

Juranovic staying on at the club will be the best case scenario for Celtic. He is a key member of Postecoglou’s side, having excelled in several roles – left-back, right-back and on the wings – last season, whatever the situation called for.

A player with that kind of versatility was very important, especially in the first half of the campaign, when the squad did not have a lot of depth and was struggling with a series of injuries as well.

Of course, if a club decided to make a big offer for Juranovic in the summer, it would not be a huge surprise to see him leave, as that is not an uncommon event at Celtic. But the Hoops should definitely look for a transfer fee that would be around the Scottish record £25 million that Arsenal shelled out for Kieran Tierney in 2019.
