Celtic have made quite the start to their summer transfer window by signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that could rise up to £10 million with add-ons, which would make him the most expensive signing in the club’s history. The United States defender certainly deserves the big move though, as he was arguably the Hoops’ best player last season, while on loan.

Another player who was absolutely brilliant on loan is Jota. The Portuguese winger had struggled at the senior level at Benfica but looked like a player transformed at Celtic. And the club are believed to be on the verge of signing him permanently as well.

They are not expected to stop there either. Alexandro Bernabei of Lanus is someone who Celtic have been linked with for a while and a move for him now only looks like a matter of time.

As tweeted out by Anthony Joseph, Bernabei is due to undergo his medical at Celtic this weekend, before signing a long-term contract. The transfer fee is £3.75 million, with a 10% sell-on clause to Lanus.

Signing Bernabei is a statement of intent on the part of Celtic. Greg Taylor did quite well last season and proved himself to be a league-winning left-back.

It is clear though that the club are not content with just that and are looking to strengthen the squad further, as they head for the Champions League group stage after many years and have the Scottish crown to defend as well.

Bernabei is an exciting signing to say the least. He has a lot of qualities because of which he can thrive in Ange Postecoglou’s system. At the same time though, there is an amount of risk involved in the move as well due to the fact that he has never played in Europe before and it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to the football here.
