Celtic are coming off of a brilliant season which saw them clinch the Premiership and League Cup double against all odds and expectations. On the other hand, the club have started the summer transfer window with intent as well, signing Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur in a deal that could rise up to £10 million with add-ons, while moves for Jota and Alexandro Bernabei appear to be on the verge of completion as well.

The picture is looking quite different for Aberdeen, who are coming off of one of their worst campaigns in recent memory, having finished 9th in the Premiership last season.

There has been some transfer business between Celtic and Aberdeen recently, as Liam Scales was sent on loan to Jim Goodwin’s side this summer. On the other hand though, it looks like the Hoops hold an interest in Connor Barron, following his breakout campaign.

But as reported by Glasgow Live, Aberdeen manager Goodwin is aiming to offer Barron a new deal as their latest academy graduate is drawing the interest of clubs like Celtic and from abroad.

Celtic are not the only club believed to hold an interest in Barron. Italian clubs like Sassuolo and Bologna seem to have their eyes on the Aberdeen youngster as well.

The 19-year-old spent the first half of the previous campaign away on loan at Kelty Hearts, where he managed to make a big impact.

Barron would head back to Aberdeen in the second half of the campaign and played a significant amount of football for the Dons, establishing himself in their first-team and as one of the most highly-rated young players in all of Scotland.

Thus, it should come as no surprise that Celtic are believed to have an interest in the Aberdeen midfielder and the Dons could hand the Hoops a transfer blow by agreeing a new deal with him.
