Celtic are already in the middle of an exciting summer transfer window. The club have completed a permanent move for Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur, after his huge success on loan last season, in a deal that could rise up to a club-record £10 million with add-ons. On the other hand, a move to sign Jota from Benfica is also believed to be a matter of time while the Hoops are rumoured to be in talks with Benjamin Siegrist as well.

Thus, it looks like Celtic are backing Ange Postecoglou in the transfer market. The fact that they are guaranteed a place in the UEFA Champions League group stage for next season will certainly have helped in that regard.

There could be more good news for the club as well, as it looks like they could  be handed a cash boost by Manchester City in the future.

As reported by The Scotsman, Kieran Tierney is understood to feature on Manchester City’s list of possibles to bolster their left-back options. The former Celtic star has been linked with Real Madrid and Barcelona in the past as well.

Tierney left Celtic in the summer of 2019 in a Scottish record deal to join Arsenal for a transfer fee around £25 million.

Since then, he has proven himself as a top class player at the Premier League-level as well and naturally, drawn attention from some of the biggest clubs in Europe. On the other hand, Celtic have not been able to replace him at left-back till now.

It is rumoured that Celtic have a sell on clause for Tierney and with the Arsenal star being rated at around £50 million, a move away could bring in a hefty windfall for the Hoops in the future.

It remains to be seen how things turn out. It must be said though that the timing of the Manchester City rumours are interesting, since the club are also being linked with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion left-back, Marc Cucurella, at the moment.
