For a while now, it is has been believed that it is only a matter of time before Celtic complete a deal for Jota. The Hoops are believed to have an option to buy set at around €7.5 million and rumours are suggested that they are ready to trigger that to make the Portuguese star’s loan stay at Parkhead a permanent one.
The club have already completed and announced the permanent signing of Cameron Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur.
Yet, a move for Jota has not taken place till now, as pictures continue to swirl around social media of him enjoying his holidays. That has, perhaps naturally, led to some of the fans growing impatient, as the saga has continued to drag on.
It does not look like there is any need to panic though as everything seems to have been agreed with Benfica and now, the next step is to agree personal terms with the Portuguese winger. Anthony Joseph tweeted out while talking about the Jota to Celtic situation:
I'm talking about Bernabei, there. Our last info on Jota was that everything was agreed with Benfica and the next step is to finalise personal terms with the player. Jota is very much living his best life atm on a million holidays, it seems!

Reliable source provides fresh update on Jota to Celtic transfer situation
According to stats from Transfermarkt, Jota scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists in 40 appearances for Celtic last season. Thus, he was one of the key players in the club’s Premiership and League Cup double.
As a result, it is important that the club sign him on a permanent basis. And till now, all the noise coming out of the media, both in Scotland and in Portugal, has suggested that a move for Jota is not a matter of if but when. So, there does not seem to be any reason to believe that the move will fall through from here.
Let’s see where this Jota to Celtic transfer saga goes from here. With the home kit for next season yet to be launched though, maybe that could be an interesting time to make the announcement.
