It will be very interesting to see how the Celtic squad shapes up this summer. The majority of the rumours have been regarding players who the club could end up signing, as one would expect. At the same time though, the Hoops have let quite a few leave as well. Both Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton ended their nearly decade-long careers at Parkhead at the end of last season. On the other hand, we have also seen Kerr McInroy join Kilmarnock.

One player whose future has been surrounded by mystery is Karamoko Dembele, as neither the club nor the player have come out and announced that the winger has left, at the end of his contract.

There is not expected to be any lack of interest in Dembele’s signature though, as Serie A newcomers Lecce have already been linked. And now, it looks like they will be joined by a Ligue 1 club in the transfer race.

As reported by Foot Mercato, Brest is an option for Dembele and are well placed to welcome the winger.

Player linked with French club as his Celtic future remains a mystery

With neither Celtic nor the player, and not even the media, making a clear announcement about his exit, one has to wonder whether there is still a chance that Dembele could decide to remain at Parkhead.

A player like him could flourish in Ange Postecoglou’s system of football if he gets the chances and is able to apply himself properly.

There has never been any doubt about his talent or quality. Thus, it will be very interesting to see where things go from here.

While coming through the youth ranks, he was one of the most highly-rated talents in world football. His career at the senior level has not gone nearly as smoothly and he has barely featured to be honest. Now, 19 years of age, this is a vital stage of his career and he will have to weigh up any decision he makes properly.
