Aiden McGeady came through the youth ranks at Celtic and became a first-team star at the club as well, something that not many others have been able to do in recent times. After a brilliant run at Parkhead, he would end up moving to Spartak Moscow, in a somewhat surprising move. At that point of time, it was the most expensive transfer in Scottish football history.
McGeady has had an eventful career since then to say the least. After leaving Spartak Moscow, he would head to England to join Everton.
Around his time at the Merseyside club, there was believed to be a chance to return to Parkhead but at the end of the day, it did not materialise, and McGeady ended up staying at Everton. Since then, he has represented several other English clubs and his last run came at Sunderland.
Now, as reported by Edinburgh Evening News, McGeady is keen on a return to Scotland. A move to Hibernian is believed to be a possibility for the player who has just left Sunderland.

Now 36 years of age, it is safe to say that McGeady is nowhere near his prime as a footballer although he has shown that on his day, he can still perform at a very high level and was pretty good for Sunderland during his time at the club.
Thus, a move to Hibernian might make sense for the club, who do need to bring in more experience as they look to bounce back from a bad season.
A move back to Celtic seems almost impossible at this point of time in a playing role and as a result, if McGeady is to return to Scotland, there are very few options better than Hibernian, where he would get the chance to reunite with Lee Johnson, who revitalised his career at Sunderland in the past.
