Celtic do not need a complete overhaul of their squad like they did the last time around. But at the same time, they still need to strengthen the side as they will be returning to the main stage of the Champions League after many years and must be keen to impress in Europe’s elite competition. There is more than one position in the squad that could do with reinforcements though.

The first one that comes to mind is left-back, which has been considered as an weakness for Celtic for years now, since Kieran Tierney left to join Arsenal in a Scottish record transfer. On the other hand, they could do with another centre-back as well, despite signing Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis, as the future of Christopher Jullien is up in the air.

Central defensive midfield is a position that could need strengthening too, with Nir Bitton leaving at the end of last season and Ismaila Soro being linked with a reunion with Neil Lennon at Omonia Nicosia. Further, goalkeeper and striker are positions to keep an eye on as well. And what does the future hold for Jota?

Amidst all this, Anthony Joseph has tweeted out providing an exciting update on the situation and has given the latest on several positions across the pitch for Celtic:

It is safe to say that this summer looks to be another potentially big one for Celtic. That has been helped by the fact that their place in the Champions League group stage is already confirmed and the financial boost that comes with it as well.

It must be said that it is brilliant to see Ange Postecoglou being backed. He has certainly earned it with the club’s unexpected double last season.

Let’s see what kind of players end up at Celtic this summer.
