Celtic are expected to make a few additions to their squad this summer. The Hoops have impressed immensely under the management of Ange Postecoglou till now, winning the Scottish Premiership and League Cup double. It was unexpected and against all odds. But the stakes will be even higher next season with a Champions League group stage spot already secured and the Scottish Premiership crown to defend as well.

Celtic do not need a rebuild like they did the last time around, but they could definitely do with a bit of strengthening in a few areas of the pitch.

As a result, one would expect the club to make moves for players with experience, who can come in and make an immediate impact on the squad. But it looks like the club also have their eyes on youngsters. And one of them appears to be a 19-year-old midfielder from Aberdeen.

As reported by the Scottish Daily Express, Celtic sent scouts to watch Connor Barron in action for the Scotland under-21s against their Belgian counterparts. It is believed that Postecoglou and his scouting team have been impressed with the teenager throughout the season.

Barron enjoyed a bit of a breakout campaign this time around and has certainly caught a lot of eyes with his displays during the course of the 2021/22 season.

Barron spent the first half of the season with Kelty Hearts and would return to Aberdeen in January. And by the end of the season, he had managed to establish himself in their Dons’ first-team. That is quite an achievement for sure.

Thus, it is safe to say that the future looks bright for Barron. Could it also include a move to Celtic though?

The Hoops could do with some options in the middle of the park following the departures of Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton.
