With the transfer window now open, one would expect Celtic to make additions to their squad over the coming weeks and months. They might have enjoyed a brilliant campaign under the management of Ange Postecoglou, winning the League Cup and the Premiership, but have an even bigger season coming up, with their Scottish crown to defend and Champions League group stage football to play as well after several years.

Unsurprisingly, the club are being linked with several players at the moment. While Celtic would be expected to make signings keeping an eye on the senior squad, they would surely look to make additions to their youth ranks as well.

We saw them sign Liam Scales from Shamrock Rovers last summer and he has struggled to make much of an impact at the club. But that has not stopped them from being linked with another player currently playing for the Irish club.

As reported by The Irish Sun, Celtic and AS Roma have been keeping tabs on Aidomo Emakhu. They have plenty of top level competition for his signature though, with Lecce, Wolves and Southampton also believed to be interested.

Emakhu is just 18 years of age and does not have a lot of experience under his belt till now. According to stats from Transfermarkt, he has made 27 appearances for Shamrock Rovers till now, scoring a couple of goals.

He is viewed as a talent with a lot of potential though as is evident from the kind of teams interested in signing him. As a result, if Celtic are able to bring him to Parkhead, it would be considered as a big coup on their part.

Emakhu has shown a lot of versatility during his time at the senior level, which would make him an even more attractive option to clubs. Now, it remains to be seen who comes out on top.
