Celtic have been linked with Hammarby left-back, Mohanad Jeahze for a while now and the transfer saga has already had its fair share of twists and turns. Rumours had emerged that the club were closing in on a move for the Iraq international and he was expected to arrive at Parkhead before pre-season. But then, it looked like that was not the case and the Hoops had not even made contact for the player.

Now, there appears to be another twist in the transfer saga, in what could be a major boost for Celtic’s hopes of signing him.

As reported by Expressen (via 67 Hail Hail), Hammarby are getting themselves ready for the transfer exit of Jeahze this summer. It is believed that they are already looking at potential replacements for the left-back as well.

With Celtic being the club who have been most heavily linked with Jeahze in recent weeks, it might suggest that they have will have a good chance of getting a deal done this summer. Let’s see how things unfold moving forward.

Celtic receive major boost in race to sign Jeahze from Hammarby this summer

Jeahze has many of the attributes that you would expect to see in a left-back playing for Postecoglou’s sides and is a good fit for the manager’s style of football without any doubt.

Jeahze is already accustomed to playing the role of an inverted full-back, which could be very important if he does end up at Celtic. On top of that, he is very good at both ends of the pitch.

He has some of the best numbers in the Allsvenskan when it comes to defenders going forward and on the other hand, he is solid defensively as well. Many believe that he might be the best left-back currently playing in the Swedish top flight.

Thus, if Celtic are able to sign him, especially for a transfer fee around £2 million, which Jeahze is believed to be rated at, it has the potential to be a masterstroke on the part of the club.
