With Celtic having won the Premiership title with a game in hand, following their 1-1 draw against Dundee United away at Tannadice Park, it was a party atmosphere at Parkhead when Ange Postecoglou’s side came up against Motherwell in the final game of their league campaign. And the Hoops gave the fans a lot to cheer about as well, putting six past the opposition. Kyogo and Giorgos Giakoumakis both scored braces, while David Turnbull and Jota got one each.
It was a remarkable season for Celtic to say the least, who must have come into it with very little hope after the disaster that was the 2020/21 season.
As a result, the players, Postecoglou and his staff, deserve the world of credit for the turnaround that they have made this season, not only winning the Premiership but the League Cup as well. The future looks bright for Celtic to say the least.
Amidst the title celebrations, the club were congratulated by one of its most famous fans in Snoop Dogg. The legendary American rapper tweeted out:
Snoop Dogg congratulates Celtic for Premiership triumph
Snoop had promised a party in Glasgow if Celtic could win the Premiership title. The players have certainly gotten the job done. Now, let’s wait for the rapper to do his thing.
Celtic certainly have a lot of things to look forward to as this season draws to a close. One would expect Postecoglou to be backed in the summer transfer window and strengthen his squad even further. And after years, the club will be returning to the Champions League group stage, as a result of getting an automatic spot by winning the Premiership title.
It is safe to say that good times are back at Celtic. They have done tremendously in domestic competitions till now. One has to suspect though that Postecoglou will have his eyes on Europe next.
