Another Celtic star admits he could leave this summer

Celtic have already announced that both Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton are going to be leaving the club at the end of the season. They might not be the only ones though. There are quite a few players who have struggled for playing time at Parkhead this season and as a result, could be looking for options away from the Scottish champions, in order to get more minutes on the pitch.

Albian Ajeti, Boli Bolingoli and Vasilis Barkas are three who many expect to be on their way out of Celtic this summer. And it appears that Christopher Jullien is another name that we can add to that list.

Jullien has barely featured this season for Celtic this season, making only one appearance for the senior side, and has not even been making the matchday squads recently. As a result, it should not come as any surprise if he wants a move away in case the situation does not change.

As reported by the Daily Record, while speaking with GOAL, when asked about next season, Jullien said:

"“It remains open. I don’t really have a preference.“The only thing I know is that I am a competitor and I came to Celtic to win titles. I won some and I still have the ambition to win some and be on the pitch but today I miss it.“If the conditions do not change, it is certain that on my side the door will be open to continue my career elsewhere in a club where the coach would be happy to rely on my qualities.”"

Could Jullien leave Celtic in the summer as well?

The biggest problem with Jullien in recent years have been his injuries. He did not make a single appearance for the club in 2021, after spending the entirety of it out on the sidelines. Before that, he had his fair share of fitness issues at the start of the 2020/21 campaign as well.

As a result, he has barely played for Celtic in two seasons now. While at one point of time, he was considered as the best defender at the club, that is no longer the case.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt have formed a brilliant partnership in the heart of defence for Celtic and improved things at the back for sure, from where the Hoops were last season.

A lot could end up depending on Carter-Vickers’ next step though, with him only on loan from Tottenham Hotspur right now.
