Celtic are preparing for a grand finish to their season. The team has already managed to win the Scottish League Cup. And while they are getting ready to celebrate another Premiership title triumph, their 10th in the last 11 campaigns, their eyes have to be on the upcoming summer transfer window as well.

There are several reasons why it will be an important transfer window for the Hoops. But building a solid team for next season’s Champions League serves as the greatest motivation. One of the many players who have been impressive under the management of Ange Postecoglou is Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Signed from Tottenham Hotspur on a season-long loan deal last summer, Carter-Vickers has been a regular for the club across all competitions since arriving, establishing himself as one of the most important members of the squad.

As multiple rumours suggest, Celtic want to sign the Tottenham Hotspur loanee on a permanent deal. But, that won’t be easy as there are several other clubs believed to be interested in the defender as well.

Celtic receive massive Carter-Vickers transfer boost

As reported by Glasgow Times, former Celtic striker John Hartson has revealed that the Premier League side would like to find Carter-Vickers a permanent exit this summer:

"“I know Spurs want to sell.“I know for a fact, because I speak to people at Spurs, and they want to sell Carter-Vickers.“He’s been on loan several times, and they feel that he’s not going back to Spurs, so they want to do a deal with somebody for Carter-Vickers.”"

Before joining the Hoops, the 24-year-old centre-back had been on loan spells at Sheffield United, Ipswich Town, Swansea City, Stoke City, Luton Town and Bournemouth. But it seems as if he has found his best form with Celtic in Scotland.

The defender’s current contract is believed to have an option to buy included in it. Amid interest from Celtic, several Premier League clubs are believed to be interested in signing the United States international as well.

Carter-Vickers knows exactly where he fits in at Celtic though and is expected to have the chance to play Champions League football as well. Hopefully, that ends up working in the Hoops’ favour.
