Greg Taylor makes Celtic promise after proving critics wrong

Celtic have emerged as a much-improved side this season. Improvements have been made all across the pitch under the management of Ange Postecoglou and they have certainly caught the eyes of the spectators. And the overall progression has undoubtedly led to more promising performances and positive results.

Having already bagged the Scottish League Cup, Celtic are closing in on the Premiership title as well, which will mark a successful first season for Postecoglou at Parkhead. That does not mean that there is no room for improvement though.

One of those positions is believed to be left-back, which is currently held by Greg Taylor. He has done a pretty good job this season though and proven that he can be a starter for a league-winning side.

Signed from Kilmarnock in the summer of 2019, Taylor did not have the best start to his career at Celtic. But overcoming those rough patches, the left-back has done well for the Hoops in recent times. But, of course, he will know that he needs to keep on improving if he is to hold on to his position in the team.

As reported by The Herald, Taylor recognises that Celtic will always looks to improve and it is up to him to hold on to his position in the team, as he said:

"“Celtic will always be looking to improve. If that means someone comes in to take your position you have to be ready for that fight and hope to keep it.”"

He further added:

"“I try not to look back, I just try to get better every day. I keep my feet on the ground and aim to get selected in every game for Celtic. Thankfully that’s happened often this season when I’ve been fit.“It’s enjoyable to be in that position at a club of this size. But I’ll never think I’m this or that – I’m just working hard for Celtic.”"

Having played played regularly across all competitions since his return from injury, Taylor has enjoyed his best season for Celtic till now this time around. And thus, the need for a new left-back looks much less prominent than it did just a few months ago. But at the same time, do not be surprised to see the club look to strengthen in the position this summer, especially with Boli Bolingoli expected to leave, as he appears to be completely out of the first-team picture.
