Celtic have done a tremendous job this season considering the circumstances that they had found themselves in at the start of the campaign. The club had finished 25 points behind the Rangers last season as well as trophyless. On top of that, the squad had to undergo a major rebuild as well. As a result, the odds were pretty much stacked against Ange Postecoglou.

The manager deserves tremendous credit for that. Key players like Scott Brown, Odsonne Edouard, Kris Ajer, Ryan Christie and several loanees from the previous season had departed Parkhead. On the other hand, over the past two windows, they signed 17 players in total.

The changes have certainly worked as the club have won the Scottish League Cup and are just a point away from sealing the Premiership title. Thus, one would expect this summer to be much more relaxed compared to the chaos of the last one.

One veteran appears to be headed out of the exit door though. As reported by Sport 5, Nir Bitton will be leaving Celtic at the end of the season and is considering a return to Israel.

Bitton has been with Celtic since 2013 and although he has not always been a first-team regular, he has always had a role to play in the team.

Even now, he is not one of the first names on Postecoglou’s team sheet but is often brought off the bench to solidify things up in the middle of the park.

Bitton is just 30 years of age though and might not be content playing that role. Thus, it looks like he will be bringing down the curtain on his nine-year-long Celtic career this summer.

He had recently posted some pictures with his children on Instagram inside an empty Celtic Park which did appear to hint at a possible exit and it looks like that is exactly where things might be headed this summer. If he does leave, the club will definitely need to bring in a replacement though.
