The turnaround that Celtic have made this season under the management of Ange Postecoglou has been impressive to say the least. The Hoops had finished 25 points behind the Rangers and trophyless last season but this time around, they appear to be closing in on an unexpected double. The club have already won the Scottish League Cup and need just 4 points from their last three games to clinch the Premiership title as well.

Those games are against Hearts at home, Dundee United away and then the final game of the season at Parkhead against Motherwell. Celtic also have a vastly superior goal difference over the Rangers thus realistically, 3 points could be enough to seal the title.

If Celtic are able to win the Premiership, they will get an automatic spot in the Champions League group stage next season. It has been a long time since the club have been involved in Europe’s elite competition.

As reported by Sky Sports, Postecoglou was recently asked whether qualifying for the Champions League would have an effect on the kind of moves that Celtic made in the summer and the manager said:

"“I think so. I’d assume that it makes us a more attractive proposition but it won’t change the strategy in terms of the kind of players.“I think that we’ve done really well in the transfer market this year by sort of following a certain formula in the type of player we bring in. That’s not going to change, we’re not going to try and move to a different sort of price range and bracket just because we may have some extra income. It is still about bringing the right players in.”"

One of the biggest reasons why Celtic have been so successful this season is because of the signings that they have made.

Players like Kyogo, Jota, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Joe Hart and several others might have raised a lot of eyebrows when they were brought in, but they have gone on to become integral parts to the success of the team.

Postecoglou seems like the type of manager who has a clear idea of the type of player he wants in his system of football and sticks to that. His transfer record has been brilliant since arriving at Parkhead and hopefully, the club will continue making shrewd signings over coming windows as well.
