The game between Celtic and the Rangers at Parkhead was a very interesting one indeed. If Ange Postecoglou’s side won, they would have virtually guaranteed themselves the Premiership title. And one suspects that if they had taken their chances in the first half, they would have put the game to bed in the first 45 minutes itself, like they did the last time Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side came visiting.

That was not to be though and after the hour mark, the Rangers took complete control of the game but could only manage a 1-1 draw, leaving Celtic on the verge of being crowned the champions of Scotland. Mathematically, the Hoops just need four more points but realistically, three would be enough.

Another interesting thing that set social media on fire from the Glasgow Derby though was John Terry’s appearance at Parkhead wearing a Celtic scarf, leaving no doubt which club from the city he supported.

Unsurprisingly, a lot of the Rangers fans were not delighted with the former Chelsea captain and made it known on Twitter:

Some even tried to frame it as something that had never been mentioned before even though comments from as far back as 2006 have emerged of Terry admitting to supporting Celtic:

Of course, a lot of people would have been caught by surprise at the fact that the former England national team captain supported Celtic, as a result of his long association with Chelsea.

It is not unknown that Celtic and Chelsea have a bit of a rivalry, and the London club’s fans are mostly known to support the Rangers between the two Glasgow giants.

No matter what Celtic fans thoughts on Terry are, it was certainly entertaining to see the Rangers fans left fuming at the revelation of him supporting the Hoops. Interestingly, he had been linked with the Parkhead job in the summer as well. Could one see a stint as the assistant manager to Ange Postecoglou in the future? Stranger things have happened.
