Celtic have done a wonderful job of rebuilding their squad after the disappointment that was the 2020/21 campaign, when the club failed to win a single trophy and finished 25 points behind the Rangers when 10IAR was up for grabs. Considering that, there were very little expectations from the fans coming into this season and it is safe to say that Ange Postecoglou’s side have exceeded them all till now.

Celtic’s recent record when it came to signing players, before the arrival of Postecoglou as manager, was not good to say the least. Jeremie Frimpong can be considered as the only real transfer success that they had had following the departure of Brendan Rodgers.

Everything has changed under the management of Postecoglou though and the club have signed multiple players within a short period of time, who are expected to have a big future at Parkhead.

Celtic fans will be hoping that that is the case with Cameron Carter-Vickers, who is only on a season-long loan at the moment from Tottenham Hotspur even though the club have an option to buy included in the deal. It won’t be easy to sign him though.

Southampton and Fulham enter race for Celtic star

Several clubs down South are already believed to be interested in Carter-Vickers’ signature and now, as reported by 90min, Southampton and Fulham, who have already booked their place in the next Premier League campaign, are the latest teams to enter the race for the defender.

Celtic are believed to be willing to shell out the transfer fee required to keep hold of Carter-Vickers but the decision could ultimately come down to the player, who will not have any lack of options to pick from in the summer.

It remains to be seen what ends up happening with Carter-Vickers but if Celtic are unable to keep hold of him, it would be a huge blow, as the Tottenham Hotspur loanee has arguably been the best player at Parkhead this season.
