Rangers fans meltdown at announcement as Celtic dominate
Celtic have enjoyed a great season till now to say the least and could be on their way to an unlikely double, something that not many people could have dared to predict at the start of the campaign when the Hoops were coming off of a terrible 2020/21 and had also undergone a major overhaul both on and off the pitch over the summer. The general feeling was that they would struggle to keep up with the Rangers.
Reality has been quite different. Not only have Celtic been able to keep up with the Rangers, but they are also leading the Ibrox side by 6 points with just 4 more Premiership games to go. On the other hand, they have also won the Scottish League Cup.
Naturally, Celtic are well represented in the PFA Scotland nominations this year. Callum McGregor and Tom Rogic are up for the Player of the Year, Liel Abada for Young Player of the Year and Ange Postecoglou for Manager of the Year. Most fans would argue that Cameron Carter-Vickers deserved a nomination as well.
Of course, some of the fans of the Rangers are not pleased. Ewan Murray recently tweeted out questioning Rogic’s nomination and the Ibrox fans were quick to join in:
Rangers fans meltdown as Celtic dominate PFA Scotland nominations
It looks like some of the Rangers fans believe that Rogic has only been nominated because of the fact that he plays for Celtic.
Of course, this might be a very good time to point out that all four nominees for the award last year were from the Rangers, and it would have been difficult to find a Celtic supporter making the same claims back then.
The fact of the matter is that none of the Rangers players have stood out this season to the point were they would get nominated for these awards. On the other hand, Rogic has been one of Celtic’s standout performers this season and is well deserving of the recognition that he has gotten from his peers.
