Celtic are a team who have been making a reputation for themselves of pulling off transfer masterstrokes ever since Ange Postecoglou has arrived at Parkhead. Names like Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers are some that not many fans would have been very familiar with when they joined the club. But they have all proven to be brilliant moves on the part of the Hoops.

If clubs like Celtic are to compete with teams in Europe, these are the kind of moves that they need to pull off on a consistent basis. By reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Europa League this season, the Rangers have shown that it is very possible to compete on the continental level for Scottish clubs.

Celtic could end up playing in the Champions League next season, if they are able to win the Premiership. And to compete at that level, they would definitely need to strengthen their squad. One position that needs reinforcements is left-back.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, Celtic are tracking Hammarby left-back, Mohanad Jeahze. And signing the Iraq international could be an absolute masterstroke on the part of the club.

Why Jeahze could be the perfect signing for Celtic

Jeahze has been exceptional for Hammarby in recent times and is one of the key reasons behind them sitting at the top of the Swedish league at the moment.

According to stats from the Daily Record, since the start of last season, he has played in 40 games, creating 41 key chances and providing 11 assists. That’s the best rate in both categories for any defender in the Swedish top flight. On the other hand, he recovers four balls per game, which is in the top five.

Thus, it looks like Jeahze is brilliant going up the pitch and can more than hold up his own on the defensive side of things. He is known for his stamina as well, keeping up pace through the course of the entire 90 minutes, going up and down the left flank.

Thus, it is not hard to see why the left-back could be a great fit in Postecoglou’s style of football. And on top of everything else, it is believed that he could be available for a transfer fee around £2 million.
