Coming off of a poor performance against the Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final, which ended in a 2-1 defeat, Celtic will know that they need to bounce back and get the momentum back on their side as soon as possible. They might have a 6 point lead in the title race but we all know how quickly things can change in football and as a result, there is zero place for complacency.

The last time Celtic travelled to Victoria Park, back in December, they had to wait till the 97th minute of the game for Anthony Ralston to crop up with a winner against Ross County. Since then, The Staggies have not lost at their home ground though and as a result, this is going to be a difficult task for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

There is some positive news though as Giorgos Giakoumakis, who missed the Scottish Cup semi-final against the Rangers at Hampden Park, has recovered from his injury and looks set to be involved.

As reported by Football Scotland, when asked about Giakoumakis, Postecoglou said:

"“He’ll be available.“He trained early in the week and re-integrated into the squad and did the last couple of sessions fully.”"

Celtic handed major Giakoumakis boost ahead of Ross County game

Giakoumakis had not made a great start to life at Celtic but he has certainly come into his own in the second half of the season and shown why he had topped the Eredivisie scoring charts last season.

It would not be wrong to say that Giakoumakis has been Celtic’s best player since the turn of the year. The last time that these two sides met, at Parkhead last month, the Greek striker scored a hattrick.

Thus, it is not hard to see why his availability is a gigantic boost for this Celtic side, who need all three points this weekend. They had certainly missed the presence of Giakoumakis up top against the Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

It will be interesting to see though whether Giakoumakis is fit enough to feature from the start or will be an option on the bench.
