Celtic in advanced talks to complete £10 million transfer

Celtic were staring at a very difficult campaign last summer, having finished trophyless and 25 points behind the Rangers last time around. Considering the circumstances, they have done brilliantly since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager and could be on their way to winning back the Premiership title. A lot of the credit should go to the signings that they have made over the past couple of transfer windows.

One would expect new signings to take time to adjust but many have stepped up to the plate for Celtic from early on and contributed to what has been a very successful season, no matter how it ends.

And as reported by SBI Soccer, Celtic are in advanced talks to sign Carter-Vickers from Tottenham Hotspur on a permanent deal. While several other clubs are interested, the Hoops continue to push. The Premier League club’s valuation remains at a transfer fee of £6 million which could rise as high as £10 million with add-ons.

The United States international has been one of Celtic’s best players this season, arguably the very best, when his consistency from the very beginning is taken into consideration.

Defence had been viewed as a major weakness for the club last season but they have improved exponentially at the back through the course of the campaign and the presence of Carter-Vickers in the heart of it seems to have been a key reason behind that.
