Celtic have certainly turned things around since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. While the loss in the Scottish Cup semi-final against the Rangers might have been very disappointing, it is important to look at the bigger picture. This is a team that was not even expected to be in the running for the Premiership coming into the campaign and are leading the title race by 6 points with 5 more games to go.

Thus, the manager as well as the players deserve tremendous credit for the job that they have done this season.

Several of them have stepped up to the plate and done much better than anybody could have expected of them. Tom Rogic is the perfect example of that. Not too long ago, it was believed that his time at Celtic was up but now, he is an integral part of the first-team once again.

Rogic’s current deal is set to run out in the summer of 2023 and journalist Pete O’Rourke believes that Celtic would be desperate to extend his deal. As reported by GIVEMESPORT, he said:

"“I think Celtic will be desperate to try to sit down and sort out his long-term future.“They’ll want to keep him there because I think he’s got that little something extra that Celtic had been missing over the last 12 months.“He’s been a big factor in their success and trying to win the title this year. If Postecoglou has got anything to do with it, he’ll be pushing Celtic to ensure they keep hold of Tom Rogic.”"

Does Rogic have a long-term future at Celtic?

It is unquestionable that Rogic has been a key part of Celtic this season and for a period of time earlier on in the campaign, he was the one carrying this team when other important players were either out injured or underperforming.

His long-term future at Celtic might be dependent on the development of Matt O’Riley and the kind of players that the club end up signing in the upcoming transfer windows. One has to remember that despite their domestic success, we are in the early portions of the rebuild under Postecoglou, who seems to be targeting success in Europe as well.

Rogic is still just 29 years of age though and with the football that he is playing this season, it would be a mistake to let him leave anytime soon.
