Celtic are one of the most well supported clubs in the world. While there is no question about their popularity in Glasgow and Scotland as a whole, it is easy to forget how many fans they have overseas as well. And the Hoops definitely have their fair share of celebrity supporters too. One of the most famous on that list is the name of American rapper, Snoop Dogg.

One of the most popular artists of his generation, Snoop has remained one of the biggest names in music since the early 1990s.

One thing that not many people might be aware of though is the fact that Snoop has been a Celtic fan since 2005, after he was given a jersey by DJ Big Al. The rap legend, who is a well known sports enthusiast, is believed to have been a supporter of the club since then.

It is clear that Snoop has been keeping an eye on Celtic’s campaign, as they close in on the Premiership, and appears to be planning a trip to Glasgow if the Hoops are crowned champions. As reported by the Daily Record, he said:

"“My Bhoys are not there yet but after their win against Rangers, they are getting close to winning the championship.“Snoop hasn’t booked his ticket just yet but the passport is out of the safe.“As soon as they are champions, you better believe I am on that flight to Glasgow.”"

He appears to be planning a party as well as he added:

"“The night is going to go off and whatever they want to do, it’s all going to be on Snoop.”"

Snoop Dogg’s plans if Celtic win the Premiership title

There is still a lot of work to be done for Celtic if they are to win the Premiership. They are definitely in the driver’s seat now, enjoying a 6 point lead with just five more league games to go. But we all know how quickly things can change in football. The Rangers had a 6 point lead of their own coming out of the winter break.

Celtic must be confident of their chances though, having won the previous two Glasgow Derbies, 3-0 at Parkhead and 2-1 at Ibrox. But the Rangers have managed to make the semi finals of the Europa League and will be riding a high right now themselves.

Before any of that though, the two sides are set to meet in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park this weekend.
