Barry Ferguson warns Rangers about one Celtic star
It is hard to pick which side will be the more confident of the two heading into the Scottish Cup semi-final between Celtic and the Rangers. The Hoops have been brilliant domestically this season and have won the previous two Glasgow Derbies, both home and away. On the other hand, Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side turned around a first leg deficit against SC Braga to make it to the Europa League semi-finals in midweek.
Thus, both sides must be feeling good about themselves and their chances at Hampden Park. Celtic might have a slight edge over their crosstown rivals though.
Initially, it had been believed that Kyogo Furuhashi would not be fit enough to start the game against the Rangers. But interestingly, Ange Postecoglou has not ruled out the possibility in his latest press conference though.
Rangers legend, Barry Ferguson, has warned his former side about Kyogo and what he brings to the table. As reported by the Daily Record, he said on Go Radio:
"“In terms of a Rangers point of view, it is a worry, I think he is a top player, he causes teams so many problems.“Not just with the quality he has got on the ball, it’s off the ball, his movement is exceptional.“It looks to me the way Postecoglou is talking that he’ll be in from the start and that’s one player Rangers need to keep an eye because he is a real danger.”"
Will Kyogo start for Celtic against the Rangers?
Postecoglou has kept his cards very close to his chest, as he so often does, heading up to the Scottish Cup semi-final against the Rangers. The manager is certainly the master of the mind games. Thus, it is very hard to judge whether Kyogo is fit enough to start or not.
Kyogo should only be starting though if he is fit enough to do so. We have already seen him being rushed back from an injury earlier on in the season and it ultimately led to him having to spend more than three months out on the sidelines. Thus, Celtic have to be very careful with how they deal with the Japanese star.
Kyogo himself must be raring to go though. It was just last weekend that he made his return from a long-term injury. He has missed the last couple of Glasgow Derbies though, both of which Celtic ended up winning.
