Celtic and the Rangers will meet for the fourth time this season, when the Glasgow rivals face each other in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden Park. The Hoops hold the advantage at the moment, having won the previous two Glasgow Derbies, 3-0 at Parkhead and 2-1 at Ibrox. Their opponents won the first one of the campaign 1-0 in their own backyard.

Form often goes out of the window in these games though and it will be interesting to see how things play out at Hampden Park next weekend.

The general feeling is that the pressure is on the Rangers to get a result here. Not only have they lost the previous Glasgow Derbies but this might also potentially be their last chance to win silverware this season, depending on how things play out in the Premiership and the Europa League.

Kenny Dalglish is of that view as well but Ally McCoist differs. As reported by the Daily Record, while speaking with talkSPORT, the Rangers legend said regarding the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-final:

"“Rangers have got everything to play for – and so have Celtic!“I love the fact we say there’s more pressure on Rangers, these games are unbelievable, they really are.“I can let Kenny off, because he’s the best, because he’s Kenny!”"

Do Celtic or Rangers have more pressure on them going into the Scottish Cup semi-final?

It is safe to say that the pressure is very high on both teams when it comes to Glasgow Derbies, no matter when they are played or what is at stake on the day.

For the Rangers, this game might be more important in terms of silverware, as they will know that it is very difficult to win the Premiership or the Europa League.

On the other hand, there is a lot of pressure on Celtic as well. On one hand, they have the chance to potentially win a treble this season. On the other hand, if they lose the Scottish Cup semi-final, one will wonder what kind of impact that would have on their momentum when it comes to the Premiership.

Thus, there is a tremendous amount at stake here and whoever wins, will get a huge boost for the rest of the season.
