Kris Boyd’s hilarious Aaron Ramsey U-turn as Celtic win again

Celtic stormed their way to a win against St Johnstone, moving one step closer to the Premiership title. While there is still a lot of work to be done for Ange Postecoglou’s side, with every game, they must be gaining in confidence. The same cannot be said about the Rangers though. They lost the Glasgow Derby last weekend in their own backyard. And then, they lost the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final tie against SC Braga.

One interesting thing that happened in that game was that Aaron Ramsey was kept on the bench for the entirety of it, despite being declared fit to feature.

It is safe to say that things are not going as the Rangers fans would have expected when the club signed Ramsey in the January transfer window, on loan from Juventus. He was believed to be the guy who would power them to the title.

While speaking to Sky Sports back then, Kris Boyd had hailed it as a fantastic signing. But it looks like he has made a U-turn since then. Recently, he wrote in his column in The Scottish Sun:

"Then you have Aaron Ramsey as the big January signing.On the face of it, his arrival was impressive business from Rangers — but again short-term.It was only going to work if he was fit and well enough to contribute to the team in games that matter.He’ll probably play on Sunday, but you can’t tell me that he came to Gers to face St Mirren in Paisley."

While dark clouds seem to be hanging about Ibrox, the days seem much sunnier for Celtic. They put in arguably their best performance of the season, getting a 7-0 win against St Johnstone, leaving them 9 points clear of the Rangers, who do have one game in hand.

With Celtic enjoying a huge advantage when it comes to goal difference as well, it looks like three wins from the last five league games might be enough for the Hoops to clinch the Premiership title.

The focus must now be on the upcoming Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park against the Rangers. As someone once said, we never stop.
