With the Glasgow Derby win on Sunday, Celtic have moved closer to securing this season’s Scottish Premiership. Having earned 79 points from 32 games, they sit atop the points table, with the second-placed Rangers currently six points behind the league leaders. Thus, while there is still some way to go in the title race, one has to consider the Hoops as favourites at the moment.

Unless something unexpected occurs, Celtic seem to be on their way to adding another title to their trophy cabinet.

Cameron Carter-Vickers has emerged as one of the stars for Celtic this season and he scored the winner in their 2-1 victory over the Rangers at Ibrox. The United States international not only scored the most decisive goal of the afternoon though but also defended brilliantly against Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

His display at the back, coupled with the goal, just goes on to show how important the Tottenham Hotspur loanee has become for this team.

Celtic handed boost in chase to sign Carter-Vickers on a permanent deal

As reported by the Daily Record, Celtic are edging closer to sealing a permanent move for Carter-Vickers. The player’s camp believe that Parkhead is the best place for him to take his game to the next level.

The 24-year-old joined Celtic on loan from Tottenham Hotspur last summer. It was on a season-long loan, with a £6 million option to buy believed to be included in the deal, which could rise to £10 million with various add-ons.

Carter-Vickers has been a regular in the starting XI for the Hoops since joining in the summer. But his performances have caught the attention of clubs down South as well.

Premier League clubs like Leicester City, Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also believed to be interested in the Tottenham Hotspur loanee. Now, it remains to be seen if Celtic are able to sign him on a permanent basis.
