Scott Brown sends message to Celtic stars after win vs Rangers

Former Celtic skipper Scott Brown has shared his reaction to Celtic’s huge 2-1 win over the Rangers away at Ibrox, on his social media. The result has sent Ange Postecoglou’s side 6 points clear at the top of the Premiership table, with 6 league games left to be played. And while Broony may have left the club in the summer, his love for the Parkhead outfit is still evident. That is hardly a surprise given the enormous success that he enjoyed there.

Brown left Celtic during the summer and moved to Aberdeen in a player-coach role, under the management of Stephen Glass. Things didn’t work out well there though.

The Dons struggled and Glass eventually was shown the exit door. Jim Goodwin, fresh from relative success at St Mirren, was brought in as their new manager and Brown would soon depart Aberdeen.

That is partly why he was able to put his feet up, and watch the Glasgow Derby, as Celtic got a 2-1 win away at Ibrox, their first victory at the Rangers’ home ground since 2019, when Brown was still a part of the team. On his Instagram story, Brown wrote:

"“Thanks lads, enjoyed that one I did.”"

Many Celtic fans took to social media to respond positively to Broony and his message and him clearly enjoying backing the Bhoys from home.

A solid performance and all three points away at Ibrox helped stretch Celtic’s lead at the top of the table. They are now very much in the driver’s seat and have to be considered as favourites to win the title. No wonder Broony was pleased!

Anything is possible in football though and Celtic cannot take their eyes off the ball before they have been officially crowned as the champions of Scotland. That is still quite some distance away, if it does indeed end up happening.
