Celtic have had a massive problem keeping hold of their youngsters in recent years. A number of them have decided to depart Parkhead in order to join clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Leeds United and others. There have been multiple reasons behind that. On one hand, the Hoops do not have a great record of bringing through their youth players up to the senior level in recent years.

On the other hand, they have struggled to make the Champions League for years, which had been a great stage for Celtic youngsters to showcase their talents on the European stage at one point of time.

And it is increasingly looking like they are set to lose one of their most promising youth players in years, Ben Doak, to Liverpool.

Rumours have suggested that he is closing in on a move to Anfield. And Doak is now following both Liverpool’s official account and one called Liverpool FC Academy on Instagram.

Doak appears to drop massive Liverpool hint as Celtic exit rumours intensify

Doak has been shining for the Scotland under-17s side recently and there is no question about the fact that he is a special talent.

In fact, at 16 years of age, he has already made a couple of appearances for Celtic’s senior team. That just goes on to show how highly he is rated around Parkhead.

If Doak does end up leaving for Liverpool, it would be a massive blow for Celtic, as there is no doubt that there were hopes that he would go on to establish himself as a first-team starter in the future.

But there have been suggestions that a move to Anfield, to play under the management of Jurgen Klopp, was too good of an opportunity for Doak to turn down. If that is the case, the only thing we can do is wish him the best of luck for the future.
