It is not everyday that you see Celtic being linked with a Bayern Munich youngster and it is not hard to understand why. It is the other way round that things are most often. But it looks like it is the Hoops, who have their eyes on one of the most exciting young players that the Bundesliga giants have in their ranks right now and it appears that the Glasgow giants have even held talks.

The player in question is Christopher Scott. He is an attacking midfielder at Bayern Munich, who is just 19 years of age at the moment.

Scott had come through the youth ranks at Bayer Leverkusen, who have produced some of the biggest talents in football in recent years, before joining Bayern Munich. And he is very highly rated there to say the least, having already made a couple of appearances for the senior team.

There are question marks over his future at Bayern Munich, who want to extend his contract, but Scott wants to play regularly. And as tweeted out by Florian Plettenberg, there have been talks with Celtic and Brentford:

If Celtic are able to pull off a move for Scott, it would be considered as a major coup on the part of the club.

Scott’s numbers for both Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen, while coming through the youth ranks, are extremely impressive and he has represented Germany at multiple youth levels as well.

Thus, it will be very interesting to see what the future holds for the Bayern Munich youngster, and it does look like Celtic have their eyes on the situation.

The tremendous work that Ange Postecoglou has done with youngsters like Jota, Liel Abada and others this season could end up working in Celtic’s favour if Scott does leave Bayern Munich.
