Celtic’s 3-0 win against Rangers, when the two sides met at Parkhead, was a statement. While the Hoops had been in the mix of things back then as well, they had not beaten the Ibrox side in a few years and thus, there was the feeling that until they could do that, Ange Postecoglou’s side were not genuine title challengers. Well, they did it and in style as well, playing Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s team off the pitch in the first-half.

That result saw Celtic go top of the table and they have remained there since. At the moment, the Hoops hold a 3-point lead over the Rangers.

There is still quite some distance to go in the league, with 7 games left to be played including a couple more Glasgow Derbies.

The next one is set to be played at Ibrox and is one of the most important Glasgow Derbies in a long time. Kris Boyd has warned the Rangers though that they will need a much better start this time around. As reported by 67 Hail Hail, he told Sky Sports:

"“You are going to have to start the game a lot better, sharper, brighter than you did [at Celtic Park].“The game was over at half-time, effectively, after the start Celtic got.”"

He further added:

"“The damage was done in the first half for Rangers and it shows you if you don’t start a game properly you’ll get punished.”"

It is safe to say that this could be a very tight affair. While the Rangers have had their struggles in recent times in domestic competitions, they have shown what they are capable of in Europe and the Hoops cannot afford to take them lightly for one second.

The last time when the two sides met at Ibrox, it ended 1-0 in favour of the Rangers although Celtic were the ones who put in the better performance. Postecoglou’s side could not take their chances though.

Thus, it is safe to say that this title race is far from over and all eyes should be on Ibrox when the Glasgow giants face off against each other.
