Josip Juranovic responds to question about Celtic exit

One of the most interesting signings that Celtic made in the summer transfer window was that of Josip Juranovic. A full Croatian international, there were high hopes from the full-back to say the least and he has established himself as a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI. Not only that, but he has played in multiple positions all over the pitch for the Hoops, whether it be left-back, right-back or on the wings.

There is no question about the fact that Juranovic was an excellent addition to the Celtic squad. And at 26 years of age, he can get even better in the near future as he approaches his prime as a footballer.

Unsurprisingly, there has been speculation about the future of the Croatian international and a potential Celtic exit.

While Juranovic did not rule it out, he was quick to point out that he was happy at Parkhead. As reported by Sportske novosti, he said:

"“Celtic is a great club, I enjoy it from the first day, I go to trainings with a smile, I enjoy the club, the city, the fans. Transfer? There are always some stories, but I leave that to my manager, I am at Celtic with all my heart.”"

At this point of time, there appears to be very little reason for Juranovic to seek a move away from Celtic.

He is a regular member of the starting XI in a side that is doing very well. They have already won the Scottish League Cup this season, are in the Scottish Cup semi-finals and are leading the Premiership title race by three points, with the Rangers at second. Also, one has to consider the allure of playing in front 60,000 fans almost every home game.

But at the same time, if he continues to impress for both club and country, an opportunity to play in a big team in a top five European league might potentially crop up for Juranovic. In that situation, one cannot blame the Croatian if he does try to leave Parkhead.

As of now though, he is a Celtic player and seems very happy with that fact.
