Celtic had made twelve signings in the summer but it was clear that the squad did not have enough depth to last through the course of the season. Thus, the Hoops ended up making five more additions to their squad in January and they have proven to be very vital. Now, while players are still picking up injuries, the massive difference is that the club now have people who can come into the team and replace them.

Thus, the job has become much easier for Ange Postecoglou in this respect, as he now no longer is scrambling for options to put out a starting XI, something that he had had to do at times in the first half of the season.

But at the same time, this squad still has its fair share of injury problems as well. And this includes their January signings as well.

Johnny Kenny had been signed from Sligo Rovers, after his impressive spell at the club. While the youngster was not expected to make an immediate impact in the squad, it would not be a surprise to see him get a taste of first-team football at Parkhead. He has struggled with injuries since arriving at the club though.

Kenny had already arrived at Celtic with an injury problem. He had recovered from it recently but seems to be in trouble once again.

As tweeted out by Lewis Laird, Kenny was brought off due to injury in the 35th minute while representing the Ireland under-19s.

The youngster had made a bright start to the match as well, hitting the post. Now, one can only hope that it is not a serious injury and Kenny can return to action as soon as possible, without missing significant time.
