Celtic have already undergone significant changes over the two transfer windows since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager. The Hoops signed twelve players, ten on a permanent basis and two on loan, in the summer and added a further five to their squad in January. On the other hand, key players like Kristoffer Ajer, Ryan Christie, Odsonne Edouard and more have departed the club.

Thus, it is safe to say that this is a very different side to the one that had finished the previous campaign 25 points behind the Rangers and it is safe to say that the results on the pitch have been very different as well.

Celtic have already lifted the Scottish League Cup this season and are leading the Premiership race by three points. But that does not mean that this squad does not need further changes. There are still several players at the club who are struggling for playing time and could do with a move away. One of them is Vasilis Barkas.

As reported by Onlarissa (via Football Scotland), Barkas has asked Parkhead chiefs to be allowed to quit Celtic in the summer.

Barkas has asked to be allowed to quit Celtic this summer

Barkas had arrived with a lot of expectations in the summer of 2020 when the club were believed to have shelled out a £4.5 million transfer fee to sign him from AEK Athens.

The expectation was that he would be the first-choice goalkeeper for the Hoops for years to come. But instead, Barkas has struggled badly and is no longer even the back-up option at the club.

Thus, at this point of time, a move away from Celtic might be the best decision for the club as well as the player. Now, it remains to be seen what the future holds and whether the Greek goalkeeper gets his wish or not.
