Celtic cruised their way to victory against Ross County. And it was Giorgos Giakoumakis who played the biggest part in that, scoring a hattrick, his second one for the club. It is safe to say that the Greek striker has found his feet at Parkhead now and is showing exactly why he had topped the Eredivisie scoring charts last season. He is a fox in the box while also providing a physical presence up top, both things that the Hoops had been missing for a long time.

But at the same time, Celtic have been missing Kyogo Furuhashi, who has been out injured since December.

Kyogo was arguably Celtic’s best player of the season before picking up a long-term injury in the last game before the winter break. Initially, it was not thought to be a long-term problem and many expected him to be back after a couple of weeks. It has been almost three months now though.

Kyogo has finally broken his silence surrounding his return from injury and it will get Celtic fans excited. As reported by the Daily Record, he told Mainichi:

"“I have been sidelined since my injury in December last year, but I am in very good shape now and feel that I am close to returning.”"

Kyogo returning would be a huge boost for Celtic. With Giakoumakis now in top form as well, one can only wonder what the two can do together.

There have been rumours that that the Japanese star could be fit in time to feature for Celtic in their upcoming Glasgow Derby against the Rangers.

It remains to be seen if that is the case or not. It must be pointed out though that he has been pictured training on his own recently and one can only hope that it is not long before he is back on the pitch.

But at the same time, it’s important to give Kyogo as much time as he needs, so that he does not end up reinjuring himself.
