Celtic find themselves in a good position right now, all things considered. They have already added to their trophy cabinet this season, winning the Scottish League Cup and are in the driver’s seat in the league title race as well, leading the Rangers by three points with eight games still left to be played in the Premiership campaign. For what was considered as a transitional season, it has been very, very good on the part of the Hoops.

Ange Postecoglou and the squad deserve a lot of credit for that. But that does not mean that things are perfect. There is a lot of room for improvement.

And they could receive some unexpected help from Manchester United in that regard, as the Red Devils might hand Celtic a cash boost in the summer.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester United are targeting a move for Moussa Dembele. It is believed that Lyon could let him leave for a transfer fee around £25 million if they feel that he is unlikely to extend his stay.

Manchester United could hand Celtic a cash boost by signing Dembele

Manchester United are in the middle of a difficult season and might end up finishing trophyless. On top of that, questions have been asked about the futures of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani and even Marcus Rashford. One or more of them could leave in the summer.

Thus, it is safe to say that the club might be in need of signing a striker in the very near future. And it looks like the former Celtic star is on their radar.

Celtic are believed to have a sell-on clause for Dembele though and as a result, if Manchester United signed him next summer, the Hoops would be handed a cash boost. Now, let’s see how things turn out over the coming weeks and months.
