Celtic have been home to some tremendous players in recent years, who have gone on to achieve brilliant things in football. Virgil van Dijk almost ended up winning the Ballon d’Or. Kieran Tierney has done a wonderful job since his Scottish record move to Arsenal. Victor Wanyama has played in some huge games, even though he might have underwhelmed in the second half of his career. And now, it looks like the name of another former Hoops star could be added to that incredible list.

Jeremie Frimpong has done an incredible job since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Celtic and has emerged as one of the best in his position in the Bundesliga.

Thus, it should not come as a massive surprise that he is being linked with some of the biggest clubs in the world right now.

As reported by SPORT1 (via Daily Record), Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona are all keen on signing Frimpong in the summer.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich ad Borussia Dortmund keen on former Celtic star

It is safe to say that Frimpong has proven himself to be one of the most exciting talents in the entire Bundesliga since leaving Celtic. Thus, it is not hard to see why there is such interest in his signature from some of the biggest clubs all over Europe.

Rumour had suggested that the player himself would prefer a move to Chelsea but that might very well be off the cards now.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Frimpong. It is great to see a former Celtic star doing so well though.

While it might have been great to have him at the club longer than he was at Parkhead, success of players like him just makes Celtic a more attractive destination for other players around the world.
