Celtic have had their fair share of injury problems throughout the course of the season and continue to do so. But following their January additions, the situation has become much more manageable than it had been in the past. Also, the Hoops have shown tremendous determination to get results, even when the going has gotten tough for them and currently hold a three-point lead at the top of the Premiership table.

The club are still missing a few key players through injury though. One of them is David Turnbull, who has been out since picking up a problem in the Scottish League Cup final against Hibernian, back in December of last year.

Before that, he was one of the most regular players in Ange Postecoglou’s starting XI and thus, it goes without saying that the manager would want him back available as soon as possible.

It looks like Turnbull is edging closer towards his return though and is set to train with the team. As reported by Football Scotland, the Celtic manager said about the situation:

"“The plan for him is, all going well, he will probably train with us post-Monday and we will see how we go from there.“I don’t know if he will be available for Ross County but he will be training with the team.”"

Celtic appear to be closing in on Turnbull injury boost

It goes without saying that Turnbull returning could be a massive boost for this Celtic team. They could definitely do with his creativity in the middle of the park, as several of the club’s midfielders have appeared to struggle in recent games.

Of course, it remains to be seen when Turnbull will actually be available to play but it looks like he is certainly taking steps in the right direction.

Celtic fans would also be hoping that Kyogo is back in action as soon as possible as well. The Japanese star has been out with an injury since December too and it is safe to say that the Hoops have missed him and his incredible contributions to the team.
