Celtic fans might have been a bit worried when the Rangers managed to pull off a loan move for Aaron Ramsey in January. The Welshman had struggled during his time at Juventus but there is no question about the fact that when he is fit and on form, he is a top player. Unfortunately for Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the midfielder has had his fair share of problems since arriving at Ibrox.

Ramsey has struggled with fitness issues for a while now and has struggled to get minutes under his belt for the Rangers till now.

On the other hand, Celtic have managed to overturn the 6-point lead that the Rangers had coming out of the winter break and have a 3-point lead of their own instead. Thus, it is safe to say that Van Bronckhorst must be worried, with just 8 league games left to be played.

Amidst all this, it looks like Ramsey is yet to achieve full fitness and won’t be starting for the Rangers in their upcoming Europa League game. As tweeted out by their official Twitter account:

Ramsey’s fitness problems continue as Celtic in driver’s seat in title race

Coming into the season, not many would have expected Celtic do as well as they have done, taking a lead over the Rangers. That is an achievement in itself, considering the fact that last season, they had finished 25 points behind their Glasgow rivals.

There are still 8 league games to go this season and anything can still happen. But no matter how things turn out from here on, this campaign must be considered as a success for Celtic.

Their eyes must be on the title though and they should aiming to win it, and grab the Champions League spot as well. On the other hand, the longer Ramsey takes to get back to fitness, the lesser his chances of making a real impact on things.
