Celtic have made some brilliant additions to their squad since the arrival of Ange Postecoglou as manager in the summer and that has been one of the biggest reasons behind the club doing well this season. The Hoops have already won the Scottish League Cup and currently sit three points ahead of the Rangers in the Premiership table, with eight league games left to be played.

Now though, it will be interesting to see if they can continue to improve moving forward. And one thing that they might need to do for that to happen is to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis.

Carter-Vickers arrived at Celtic in the summer on a season-long loan from Tottenham Hotspur and has been the most consistent defender for the Hoops this season.

Amidst all this, it looks like Celtic’s chances of signing Carter-Vickers have been handed a boost. As reported by The Scottish Sun, he is not part of Antonio Conte’s long-term plans.

Celtic handed Carter-Vickers transfer boost by Conte

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Carter-Vickers has made 35 appearances for Celtic this season and already played 3134 minutes of football.

Thus, it goes without saying that Carter-Vickers is a key part of this Celtic team right now and it would be a massive boost for them, if they are to sign him on a permanent basis. The club are believed to have an option to buy included in the loan deal, although it is not still clear whether they are willing to trigger it, or whether the defender would like to remain at Parkhead beyond this season.

It must be pointed out that there is believed to be interest in Carter-Vickers from multiple clubs in the Premier League and beyond right now. Thus, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for him.
